Privacy Policy
1) Controller and contact
1.1 Thank you for your interest in our website. Below we explain which personal data we process when you use this site. Personal data means any data by which you can be personally identified.
1.2 The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
atelier4d Planungs GmbH, Stuttgarter Platz 16, 10627 Berlin, Germany, phone: +49 (0)30 243118-0,
Email: office@atelier4d-architekten.de
1.3 This website is deliberately built to collect as little as possible. It sets no cookies, embeds no content from third-party servers, and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
2) Visiting the website (server log files)
2.1 If you use this website for information purposes only, we collect just the data your browser transmits to the server for technical reasons and which is necessary to deliver the page:
– the page requested
– the date and time of access
– the amount of data transferred
– the source or referring page you came from
– the browser used
– the operating system used
– the IP address used
2.2 Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website. This data is not combined with other sources and is not evaluated for advertising purposes. We reserve the right to review the log files retrospectively if there are specific indications of unlawful use.
2.3 Transmission is encrypted (SSL/TLS). You can recognise an encrypted connection by "https://" and the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
3) Hosting
This website is operated at STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Strasse 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. The servers are located within the European Union. All data collected on this website is processed on those servers. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR, which ensures the protection of your data and prohibits unauthorised disclosure to third parties.
4) Cookies and local storage
4.1 This website sets no cookies — neither its own nor those of third parties.
4.2 To display the page, the website stores content in your browser's local storage ("localStorage"). Only the content of the website itself is stored (project data and page settings), so that the site displays faster on a return visit. These entries contain no personal data, are not read out, and are not transmitted to us or to any third party. You can delete them at any time via your browser settings.
4.3 If an authorised person uses the site's editorial area, the selected view and the sign-in are additionally stored locally. This does not apply to visitors to the website.
5) Contact form and getting in touch
5.1 Through the contact form we collect the details you enter: name, email address, subject and message, together with the time of submission.
5.2 Two things happen when you submit: the details are stored on our server so that your enquiry reaches us reliably, and your own email program is opened with a prepared message. Whether you send that message is your decision; it is then sent via your own email provider.
5.3 The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If your enquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, the additional legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
5.4 Your message is deleted automatically no later than 180 days after it arrives. If your enquiry is concluded sooner, we delete it sooner. At your request we will delete it immediately at any time; a short email to the address above is enough. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
5.5 To protect against automated bulk submissions, we check on submission whether the form was completed by a human and limit the number of submissions per sender. For this purpose your IP address is stored solely as an irreversible check value (hash) for a maximum of one hour. The IP address itself is not stored. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in preventing misuse.
5.6 If you contact us directly by email or telephone, we likewise process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry.
6) No analytics, tracking or advertising services
This website uses no web analytics, no tracking, no retargeting and no conversion measurement. In particular, no services such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or Google Ads are integrated. No profiling and no automated decision-making take place.
7) No external content, no social media plugins
7.1 All components of this website — images, graphics and fonts — are delivered from our own server. No fonts, maps, videos or other content are loaded from third-party servers. Accessing the page therefore creates no connection to any third party.
7.2 Where we refer to our profiles on social networks, these are plain links. No plugins, buttons or tracking pixels of those networks are embedded. Data is only transmitted once you actively click such a link and open the network's own site. The respective operator is responsible for the processing that takes place there.
8) Recipients of the data
Your data is not passed on to third parties, other than to our hosting provider as a processor (see section 3) and in cases where we are legally obliged to disclose it. No transfer to countries outside the European Union takes place.
9) Your rights
9.1 You have the following rights in relation to us:
– Right of access pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR;
– Right to rectification pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR;
– Right to erasure pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR;
– Right to restriction of processing pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR;
– Right to notification pursuant to Art. 19 GDPR;
– Right to data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR;
– Right to withdraw consent given pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR;
– Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR.
9.2 An informal message to the address given in section 1.2 is sufficient to exercise these rights.
9.3 RIGHT TO OBJECT
Where we process your personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
If you exercise your right to object, we will cease processing the data concerned. We reserve the right to continue processing if we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
9.4 The supervisory authority responsible for us is:
Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Alt-Moabit 59–61
10555 Berlin, Germany
10) Duration of storage
10.1 Server log files are deleted by the hosting provider after a short period.
10.2 Messages from the contact form are deleted after 180 days at the latest (see section 5.4).
10.3 The check value used to prevent misuse is deleted after one hour at most (see section 5.5).
10.4 Otherwise, we delete personal data as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and no statutory retention periods apply.

Selected projects

What we do
From the feasibility study through to detailed design and tendering, we support complex projects with an interdisciplinary team of architects and engineers.
Sustainability
How sustainable a building will be is decided in its first design phases. Sustainability is therefore not an additional requirement for us but part of good architecture: we take the whole life cycle into our decisions and develop durable, adaptable solutions that spare resources and keep CO₂ emissions as low as possible.
Ecological, economic and social requirements are drawn together with the specialist disciplines involved into one integrated concept.
Not every sustainable building needs a certificate. Where one is wanted or required, we build its criteria into the design early and coordinate the evidence. Sustainability then becomes measurable, comparable and independently verifiable.
Depending on the project and the system, we take on the auditor or assessor services or guide clients and design teams through the whole process:

New buildings, refurbishments, existing buildings and districts, plus ESG verification against the EU Taxonomy.

Lets owners, investors, operators, tenants and occupiers introduce sustainability criteria for their buildings.
Design support towards the AFBA seal for allergy-friendly and healthy building.
Buildings of every asset class, districts, and interior and exterior spaces are certified — medically and scientifically verified. The seal complements existing asset certifications and is 100% ESG compliant.
Sustainability shapes not only our projects but also the way we operate as a company. We have EcoVadis independently assess our performance across environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement — in November 2025 we were awarded the EcoVadis silver medal.
"Planning sustainably means translating responsibility into concrete decisions — traceable, deliverable, and of lasting benefit to clients, to the people who use the buildings and to the built environment."
