• Architecture and planning

This is precisely where our expertise lies. We take on complex planning challenges that bring together technical, operational, economic, and design requirements. Particularly in infrastructure projects and projects carried out during ongoing operations, we develop solutions that can be implemented reliably even under demanding conditions. Understanding our clients' needs, recognizing the specific challenges of a project, and translating them into convincing architecture is at the core of our work. For us, design quality and reliable planning are not opposing goals but complementary prerequisites for successful architecture. Whether new construction, renovation, refurbishment, a sensitive intervention within a listed building, or a large-scale complex development, we support our clients from the earliest concept through to completion. We structure the project brief, develop robust concepts, and coordinate the various specialist disciplines involved. In doing so, we establish clear foundations for decision-making, identify potential conflicts at an early stage, and ensure transparent and well-coordinated planning processes. Throughout every phase, we maintain a balanced focus on quality, cost, and schedule. Working with existing buildings will continue to gain importance in the years ahead. • Architecture for transport infrastructure
  Transport facilities are far more than functional infrastructure. As mobility hubs, they connect different modes of transport, routes, and people. They are public spaces, a part of everyday life for countless users, and an essential component of our cities. As such, they make a significant contribution to sustainable mobility and the successful transformation of transportation systems. Our ambition is to translate complex transport processes into clear, intuitive, and high-quality spaces. We design railway stations, transit facilities, and complex transportation interchanges, both above and below ground. In doing so, we combine architecture, functionality, and technology with the specific requirements of passenger flows, wayfinding, accessibility, safety, and logistics. Our goal is to create robust and durable solutions that perform reliably even under high user volumes while providing a comfortable and welcoming environment. Transport infrastructure must integrate seamlessly into its urban context while developing a distinct identity of its own. For this reason, we look beyond the individual structure and consider its connections to the surrounding city fabric, adjacent neighborhoods, and other mobility services. Well-designed transitions, intuitive routes, and high-quality public spaces transform transport facilities into vibrant, well-connected destinations. A particular challenge lies in the large number of stakeholders and interfaces involved. Clients, operators, users, specialist consultants, regulatory authorities, and contractors all contribute different requirements to a project. We organize these requirements, coordinate the planning process, and develop them into a coherent overall solution. Digital planning methodologies and BIM enable us to visualize complex relationships at an early stage and align planning decisions in a transparent and coordinated manner. Many infrastructure projects are carried out within existing operational environments and must be implemented while services continue to run. Construction phases, temporary circulation routes, safety requirements, and operational processes are therefore integrated into the planning from the outset. This allows us to develop solutions that not only excel in their final state but also function effectively throughout implementation. Our international experience from projects across Europe, the Middle East, and China has shaped our understanding of diverse mobility concepts, cultural contexts, and project structures. We combine this knowledge with a careful, site-specific approach and a commitment to creating transport infrastructure that is clear, efficient, and architecturally compelling.
• Urban and masterplanning
  Urban development and master planning provide guidance for the long-term development of neighbourhoods, sites and larger areas. We analyse existing structures and potential, and use these to develop spatial concepts that sensibly integrate buildings, open spaces, land uses and mobility. Our master plans are clear yet flexible frameworks for development. They allow for different implementation phases, provide a sound basis for decision-making and ensure a coherent overall development – even as requirements change.
• BIM and digital design
  Building Information Modeling (BIM) is transforming collaboration throughout the planning process. Digital building models make complex relationships visible at an early stage and provide a shared, reliable basis for decision-making. Design alternatives can be compared more clearly, interfaces can be coordinated more effectively, and potential conflicts can be identified before they become issues during construction. For our clients, this means greater transparency and planning certainty. Design progress, component information, and quantities are presented in a clear and traceable manner, facilitating coordination and enabling more informed decision-making. Through clearly defined processes and structured information exchange, BIM supports the effective achievement of quality, cost, and schedule objectives. As architects and lead designers, we create and manage the architectural model. The specialist models developed by structural engineers, building services engineers, and other planning disciplines are regularly integrated into a coordination model, reviewed, and aligned with one another. By working within a common data environment, we ensure transparent workflows and a consistent information base for all project participants. Depending on the project requirements, we provide not only BIM-based architectural design services but also overall BIM coordination. Since 2016, we have applied the BIM methodology throughout all project phases, from early-stage design through to tendering. For refurbishment and existing-building projects, we create digital as-built models based on appropriate survey data and point clouds. These models provide a reliable foundation for further planning and allow interventions within existing structures to be accurately analyzed and coordinated. As a member of the BIM Alliance, we actively contribute to the practical advancement of model-based planning and to the professional exchange of knowledge within the industry. Our goal is not the digital model itself, but rather better coordinated, more understandable, and more reliable planning outcomes.
• Sustainability certification
  Sustainable design is not an additional service for us; it is an integral part of good architecture. Our aim is to create buildings that are resource-efficient in construction, perform reliably over the long term, and provide lasting value and comfort for their users. From the earliest stages of planning, we consider the entire life cycle of a building. We select low-emission, low-toxicity, and proven materials, develop circular construction strategies, and seek solutions that reduce resource consumption and carbon emissions. This includes the reuse of existing building components, designing for long service life, and ensuring that buildings can be adapted over time, with components and materials capable of being separated and reused at the end of their lifecycle. Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and comparative lifecycle analyses support us in evaluating the environmental impacts of different construction methods and material choices at an early stage. This creates a transparent basis for decision-making, allowing environmental performance, economic viability, and architectural quality to be balanced effectively. Material passports document the materials incorporated into a building and provide a foundation for the transparent and circular management of resources. Upon request, we also support projects in achieving recognized sustainability certifications. Our services include DGNB certification, BREEAM certification for existing buildings, and guidance toward the AFBA Seal for allergy-friendly construction. Depending on the certification system, we provide the required auditor or assessor services or integrate certification requirements into the design process at an early stage and coordinate the necessary documentation and verification procedures. This approach makes sustainability goals measurable, comparable, and verifiable for our clients. At the same time, it results in buildings that conserve resources, promote healthy indoor environments, and retain their value over the long term.
